Aristos AthensAristos completed his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford, and is now pursuing an MS in mechatronics. His specialty is debugging. He enjoys the process of tracking down subtle bugs because it forces him to deeply understand the system in question.
Outside of academics, Aristos enjoys building quadcopters and playing soccer. He is currently working on a DIY flight controller in order to gain controls experience. Aristos' beard follows a boom & bust cycle. Its volume is inversely proportional to the amount of work left on the project. |
David LaFehrDavid is a Master's student studying electrical engineering. He loves interdisciplinary fields, which is why many of the classes that he takes involve electrical, mechanical, and software components. Academics aside, David enjoys the outdoors, especially skiing and hiking. However, most of his 4:30 a.m. wake-ups are not to summit mountains but to watch soccer!
David had loads of fun building the robot and found it really special and moving when everything came off so well at the public presentation. He is looking forward to many more embedded systems projects in the future. |
Alice LiAlice completed her BS in Engineering Physics, a conglomeration of theoretical physics and mechanical design. She is now a masters student in mechanical engineering focusing in mechatronics. She decided that while quantum mechanics was incredibly cool, a physics PhD was not for her.
She enjoys coding and also debugging circuits now that she has had two intensive quarters of ME 218! Besides mechatronics, she wants to take more CS courses in both systems and AI. Outside of school, she loves to play tennis and rock climb, and will read avidly while on break. You may also find her at a social dance event waltzing and swinging the night away. |
